In 11 days I have lost 17 pounds. My goal has been to cut my calories in half, exercise a bit more (periodic daily walks, taking the long way at work when possible), eliminate soda/pop, drastically cut my breads and carbs, and drink a lot more water and eat more protein, fruits and vegetables, olive oil, and nuts -- all more frequently. I am eating about 1600 calories a day, and a typical day is:
7:00 Breakfast - Egg whites (eqv. to 2 eggs) with 1 tsp ketchup, 2 cups of watermelon, water
9:00 Snack 1 - Vanilla or Strawberry Yogurt and water (Kroger Carbmaster yogurt is great with only 60 calories but 8 grams of protein!!)
10:30 Snack 2 - 1/2 cup of mixed nuts and edamame, water
12:00 Lunch - Salad of lettuce, shaved parmesan cheese, sliced tomatoes, sliced onions, 1/2 sliced chicken breast, 2 Tbs (or less) Olive oil vinigrette dressing, water (I have also substitured "Fresh Meal" hamburger or chicken tacos from Taco Bell when on the road.)
2:00 Snack 3 - Cup of mixed fruit (watermelon, pineapple, grapes, etc.), water
4:00 Snack 4 - Yogurt, perhaps with 2 Tbs grape nuts, water
6:00 Dinner - 1/2 chicken breast, either in 1/2 pc. olive oil lavash bread, or in a lettuce salad w/viniagrette, or similar perhaps other cooked vegetables and chicken, water
8:00 Snack 4 - Yogurt, water
If I get hungry later, I will have either another yogurt or a cup of fruit. I am also trying to sleep more.
So far, I have not been hungry and I have been consistently losing a pound a day. (After an early few days when I lost 2-3 a day.)
Any suggestions for improvements?????
